While you and your pet spend more time
outdoors make sure that he/she has a safe play environment.
Be watchful of plants you have in your pet's yard.
The ingestion of azalea, oleander, mistletoe, sago palm, Easter lily, or
yew plant material could be fatal if ingested by your pet.
Cleaning agents can also be harmful if your pet
gets a hold of them. Since the contain a variety of properties, some may
cause only mild stomach upset, while others can cause severe burns to the
tongue,mouth, & stomach.
Baits used for mice, rats, roaches, snail and
slugs should never be placed anywhere your pet has access to. These baits
contain sweet smelling ingredients that attract your pet. Eg. jelly, peanut
butter, & sugars.
When treating your lawn or garden with fertilizers,
herbicides, or insecticides, always keep your pets away from the treated
area until the area dries completely. It is also important
to follow the manufacturers label of the products used. Store out of pets
reach.
